What is A-ROMA-DOH made from?

Our play dough is made from organic wheat flour, organic oil, all natural colours, a few secret (but safe) ingredients and pure essential oils.Our gluten-free dough is made with organic rice flour.

How long should I expect my A-ROMA-DOUGH to last?

It depends on how much it is played with, but around 3-4 months if stored as suggested.

Where should I store it?

We recommend you store it in the fridge, inside the originally packaging tub. We also recommend starting any play session with clean, dry hands to avoid any food being deposited in the dough.

Is the dough edible?

NO. NO. NO. A-ROMA-DOH is made with all natural, non toxic ingredients but it is not designed to be eaten.

Are the colours in the dough natural?

Yes all colours used are derived from natural sources.

Will the colours of the dough fade?

Yes they will fade over time. It is best to keep your A-ROMA-DOH away from direct sunlight.

Will the dough stain?

We cannot guarantee 100% that the dough will not stain fabric or porous surfaces - however our tests have shown that it does not stain during general play.

What if the dough becomes dry, what should I do?

Sometimes the play dough can dry a little on the surface if left out at room temperature for awhile. You can try giving the play dough a good knead. Adding vegetable oil a few drops at a time can restore the dough if the kneading doesn't seem to work. Excessive dryness, from being left out for a long period, will deem the dough unusable.

My dough has become sticky, what should I do?

Moisture can build up in the dough whilst in the tubs. Time out of the container in warm dry air helps with stickiness. Adding some flour to your hands and work surface can fix this also. This hasn't been a problem for us, but variations in environmental factors can cause stickiness.

Why has the dough shrunk.

Play dough will lose moisture over time which will result in a decrease in weight. Also, small pieces can be 'lost' during play times.

Why are white crystals on the surface of the dough?

Salt can deposit on the exterior of the dough when cold. Work the dough with your hands to blend the salt through.

My dough colours look different to your website, why?

All doughs and colours are hand mixed and thus differences can appear from batch to batch.

Are the essential oils safe for children?
The oils in our dough are not harmful to children. If your child has an allergy to one of the oils this could cause a reaction such as redness or itchy skin. If you think your child may be allergic, patch test all the doughs before you let them play with it. The oils in our dough are very diluted.  

Are the essential oils safe for use around pregnant women?
The oils in our dough are not harmful to women who are pregnant. Some oils - such as rosemary, peppermint and chamomile can be dangerous during pregnancy therefore we do not use any oils like this. Cinnamon oil should be avoided, but our Brainy Doh is made with dried cinnamon and NOT cinnamon oil, so is safe for pregnant women.

What if my child likes eating the dough?
If a small amount of dough is eaten this will pose no risk to a child. A-ROMA-DOH is non-toxic and made with natural ingredients. However, if your child wants to eat it, then your child is may not be ready to play with play dough. There is a high salt content in ALL play doughs and this can make your child ill.

Can I get A-ROMA-DOH unscented?

Yes, the dough can be made unscented if required.

Do you make Gluten-Free dough?

All of our doughs are available in a gluten-free option.

What happens when the colours are mixed together?

Depending on which colours are mixed, the dough will general turn a mottled brown colour.

Can I purchase A-ROMA-DOH in bulk?

Yes we can make the doughs in bulk on request. Please contact us for details.

Where can I buy A-ROMA-DOH?

How much does it cost for postage of the dough?

Our dough tubs weigh approximately 480g each. Postage for 1 tub of dough within Australia costs $6.90 and from 2 to 6 tubs is $11.70. Bulk amounts or orders greater than 6 tubs can be quoted by contacting us directly.

Once I have paid for my order, how long will delivery take?

Orders are dispatched with 48 hours of being received, so depending on your location you should expect to receive your order within 3 to 5 days. Bulk orders may take longer. Express post is available for all orders upon request.
